ShopIQ creates value at every stage
in the production and distribution of in-store signage and
labeling.
Below is a simplified workflow diagram depicting one of
the many possible configurations of the solution. Using
the menu below, explore the features and functions relevant
to each process.

Data
integration and enrichment (Data Broker) |
Product data can be imported from multiple data
sources and automatically enriched according to defined
business rules.
ShopIQ's powerful data integration and enrichment tool,
known as Data Broker, can gather and merge data from multiple
sources, including POS, marketing and merchandize data-sources.
Imported data can be enriched and transformed according
to defined business rules so it is prepared specifically
for the production of signage and labeling. Data Broker
provides a powerful (yet simple) user interface for creating
data importing projects.

Dynamic
templates (Template Design) |
Templates that define the look and feel of signs
and labels are created at head office using sophisticated
yet easy-to-use design tools.
ShopIQ’s sophisticated yet easy-to-use template design
tool separates the design process from the IT development
processes. This means your marketing or merchandising department
are free to set the tone of your creative message. ShopIQ
templates have built-in intelligence that makes them change
layout and format dynamically to suit the availability of
content - ensuring the best possible presentation of information.

Centralized
pre-production (Media Manager) |
Templates are merged with the product data gathered
from existing sources or inputted manually by buyers, category
managers or marketing.
The solution provides a simple user-interface for
selecting, building and editing signs and labels for distribution.
Because the type, style and content of signage and labeling
is determined centrally, brand integrity and style guidelines
are maintained across the organization. Sign content can
be completely “locked-down” so it cannot be
modified by local users, or local users can be permitted
to modify and update content as required.

Packaging
and distribution (Packaging) |
Sign packages are compiled then sent to stores via email,
a network or picked up via a web interface.
ShopIQ introduces an innovative tool for compiling large
quantities of signs and labels into a file format that can
be easily distributed via email or a network to remote locations
(e.g. stores). All relevant fonts, templates, data and graphic
files are automatically gathered and neatly archived into
a small, self-contained ‘package’. Packages
can be given start and end dates and can restrict user-access.
Because source data is included in the package and not rendered
documents, packages are extremely small in size and allow
sign and label content to be updated or modified right up
until the last minute.

Decentralized
pre-production (Media Manager) |
When packages
are received by stores, pricing and other information can
be edited manually (based on security profiles) or retrieved
directly from local POS or head office data-sources.
Once a ‘package’ has been received by local stores or offices, users can choose to print only the items that are relevant to their particular requirements. Depending on the security policies set by head office, content can also be customized and updated, either manually or directly from local data sources. Local users can also produce new signs and labels from scratch using pre-designed templates.

Printing
(Print Agent) |
Signs are rendered
at the time of printing so changes in sign type and content
can be made right up until the last minute.
As all signs and labels are assembled (rendered) at the ‘moment of print’, the construction of documents is ‘live’. This means the decision about how documents are constructed (e.g. which size they shall be) and their content can be made at the very last minute. For instance, when documents are sent to print, they can connect with local data-sources for real-time updates.
